Coastal Star Romaine Lettuce
Certified organic by Québec Vrai.
Large romaine lettuce with a beautiful dark color. It tolerates heat well and performs very well throughout the season. Crisp, resilient leaves with a tender flavor.
Harvesting: It can be harvested whole or the leaves can be picked gradually.
Outdoor sowing: Sow directly in the ground early in the season, as soon as the risk of frost has passed. Sow 5mm deep. Place 2 seeds 20cm apart, thinning out one of the seedlings if both grow. This plant prefers milder temperatures, which delay bolting (going to seed).
Indoor sowing: Sow 3-4 weeks before transplanting outdoors.
Germination: 5 to 7 days. Temperature above 20 ° C.
Exposure: Full sun or partial shade.
Watering: In hot weather, frequent watering delays bolting and bitterness of the lettuce.
Maturity: 65 days.
Origin of the seed: We obtained the first seeds This lettuce is available at Johnny's Selected Seeds. The seeds sold are the third generation grown on the farm.
Open-pollinated seeds grown locally and naturally!
